About
My name is Karen Guth. I am a high school English teacher in Israel. I also work with new teachers who want to become English teachers. My husband and I have, at this writing, six beautiful grandchildren who live in Jerusalem in the neighborhood of Mea Shearim.
Thank God we have a wonderful relationship with them and spend time with them every week. We are not allowed to bring them story books that we read to our children and so we began to tell them stories about our lives when we were young. Soon, these stories began to evolve into “made up” stories that had a message that I wanted to impart to our grandchildren. Some of them are about being sensitive to people with disabilities, some are about encouraging them to believe in themselves and some are about values that we wanted to impart to them but were unable to do with the stories we read as children. My husband, Eric, encouraged me to share these stories with others and thus began the blog posts, “Tell Me a Story Bubie”. I hope that you enjoy them and I encourage you to share your stories with your own children and grandchildren. I just published my first children's book, Bubie (grandma) is in Bidud (Isolation). It is a picture book about the time grandparents and grandchildren have to be separated because of the Covid 19. To order the book, click on Bubie's in Bidud, at the top right hand corner of this blog. Wishing you all continued health! Karen Guth . |
